But in reality, only step by step study and lots of practices can bring mastery of expressing our ideas in public. Public speaking is an art and skill which also requires hard work and consistent practice same as mastering in other skills in our life. In present context expressing own view (giving speech) in public has been one of the important factor in our life. This enhances merits to our personality & leadership. Hence it’s important to have knowledge on effective public speaking and followings are the some major points we should consider regarding it.

Preparation of Speech
If you are going for a speech then it is necessary to find answers to such questions.
1)      What type of opinion does audience have?
2)      When are we giving speech?
3)      Where are we giving speech?
4)      How much time do we have for speech?
5)      For what and why are we giving speech?
6)      Are others speakers going to speech on same topic or not?
7)      What message do you want to give?
8)      Why do you think that it is important for you to speech in topic you are speaking?

If you have the answers to these questions ready, then your speech is impressive. Now ask yourself:
1)      What is, what was or what will be effect of the topics of the speech in present, past or future?
2)      What things you don’t know about the topic?
3)      What could be done for more information on the topic?

Now, you must have been familiar with such things and so now lets start with preparing of speech.
1)      Your thoughts about speech topic should be written.
2)      Your thoughts should be organized in proper manner.
3)      Important points should be repeated considering time value.
4)      Now enlist the main points in cheats and speak in organized manner.
5)      Speech should not be memorized word by word because such speech may be forgotten during speech in nervousness and stress and whole speech may be spoiled.
6)      Practicing speech in front of mirror among your friends, close acquaintance such as spouse is good way to build confidence.
7)      Using small handy cheat instead of longer cheats make you more comfortable, and your speech more impressive.
Things to Be remembered in a Speech
1)   Every speech should have sturdy starting and ending. When beginning a speech:

a)      Address everyone (audience).
b)      Be aware about your introductory opinion.
c)      Maintain good eye contact with audience.
d)     Commence your speech with question, stories, quotations and other means to draw attention of audience.
2)   Speech should not be started with apology. This may reduce believability of speaker among audience and they might have less curiosity and excitement toward the speech.
3)   Sense of humor can be used for drawing attention of audience.
4)   Audience may be ignorant to the subject matter and we cannot always expect they will listen to the speech with full attention. Hence speaker should be capable of presenting his/her view several times with various methods.
5)   Communication gap and individual gap should be eliminated in a speech. Using of ambiguous, unclear and jargons should be avoided to end communication gap. On the other hand audience may be seeking the questions such as why they should believe the speaker, whether he is trustworthy and what he would do for them. These questions should be well answered for avoiding the individual gap.
