Other Essential elements of Speech


1) Voice- Speaker should bring strength and clarity in their voice while delivering their speech.
Speaker should try to make meaning of their speech clear with sentimental tones which depends on time and situation of subject matter of speech. For example: congratulation speech should be given joyous tone where as condolence speech should be given mournful tone. While speaking revolutionary & protesting lines, voice should be energetic. While speaking emotional lines voice should be sentimental.
2) Exercise-Speaker should improve   their voice to make their public speaking effective by following ways.

1)      Singing songs.
2)      Speaking with clarity.
3)      Humming and slowly opening and closing mouth. This brings change in your previous voice.
4)      Speak so loud that people around 50 to 70 yards can hear it clearly.
5)      Make habit of speaking clearly & in correct language to everyone.
6)      Practicing just for few days is not enough. You should be determined to improve your weakness anyhow.
3) Strength- Presentation of speech can be made clear by bringing strength to your voice. Giving strength to right sentences while giving speech helps audiences to understand objectives of speaker.
4) Pausing- When speaker pauses, he gets chance to breathe, to think and remember what he has spoken to audience before and to change his voice as well. So speaker should
1)      Pause in necessary places.
2)      Give clear pause.
3)      There should be proper interval of pausing.
 Unnecessary use of pausing while emotional expression in speech may give audience to focus on gesture of speaker than subject matter of speech.
         5) Physical posture

     You as a speaker should follow them to make speech effective.
1)      Legs: Both legs should be kept few inches apart and a foot should be kept in front.
2)      Hands: Fingers of hands should be kept free so that you feel comfortable while giving speech.
3)      Face: Face should express happiness and cautiousness. You should look at audience and sometimes few people.
4)      Clothes: Clothes worn should be of decent and simple so that attention is paid to speech and not clothes you are wearing.
5)      Body: Bowing your head would show your interest on audience. Remember that when somebody questions your criticize while you give your speech, then more your head forward.
Eyes: Gesture of eyes includes important part of body language because it tells many things about a person or what person wants to say. Hence, while giving speech you should maintain eye contact to show your confidence
